G.A.F.A. stands for Gay As Folk and Allies.
GAFA acts as a GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) and is in the process of hope to providing resources, education, understanding, and build bridges with the community of Lockport and other organizations in the Chicagoland area. The meetings for teens and young adults are every other Monday at St John’s Episcipal Church located at312 East 11th StreetLockport, IL 60441From 4pm to 6pm.
Some may wonder why a church started a GSA. The reason is simple. There is a large chasm growing in our society regarding matters of orientation and there are a lot of teens and adults caught in the crossfire of politics, religious debate, and bullying from peers. This is a chance for those who want to learn and understand and love each other, a safe place to do so.
