Sunday Nov 6th: LifeBridge Gathering: To Doubt is Divine?

Time: Noon till One

Place: Ministry Center, 604 e 9th Street, Lockport Il.

We all have beliefs. Belief is natural and easy. French philosopher Voltaire once said, “Si Dieu n’existait pas, il faudrait l’inventer” (“If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him”). But what if we were to strip away the beliefs we have with the doubts that lay in each of us? Would we find something and someone real….more real than the images we have created, or would we find our darkest fear to be true, that what we believe is wrong..or worse yet, that there is nothing beyond the curtain. We will explore this month this very concept.

Sunday Aug 21st: LifeBridge Gathering: Sin and Grace Week 3: Community Discussion

Time: Noon till One

Place: Ministry Center, 604 e 9th Street, Lockport Il.

This is your chance to talk from your heart and mind about Sin and Grace. We will also be having tangible active worship…so instead of music you get to see and feel and touch stuff that reflect sin and grace.

Those of you who were not there last week may need to know why this is our topic.

Often, when Pat meets someone new, they have questions when they find out he is a pastor. They want to know if this thing or that thing is a sin. If it is…can you get around the sin angle by tweaking it a little or just doing it on Tuesdays? These conversations drive him nuts and he tells them to sin boldly.

Sunday August 14th: LifeBridge Gathering: LifeBridge: Sin Boldly: A Field Guide to Falling into Grace-Week 2

Sunday Aug 7-LifeBridge Gathering: Sin Boldly: A Practical Field Guide to Falling into Grace

What if sinning less is not the point of Church?

What is this thing called grace anyway?

Sunday, May 22nd LifeBridge Gathering-Week 4-Abram and Sarai-Potluck!

Time: Noon till One

Place: Ministry Center, 604 e 9th Street, Lockport Il.

We spent a month on Abram and Sarai. We found a promise from God is still on even when things get messed up and we do things that make no sense. So bring a dish…something a little bad for you and something good.

Sunday, May 15th LifeBridge Gathering-Week 3-Abram and Sarai-Community Discussion

Time: Noon till One

Place: Ministry Center, 604 e 9th Street, Lockport Il.

This is week 3 of Abram and Sarai.  This is the week where the community discusses Abram and Sarai from Genesis 11-17.  In week one we talked about the calling to leave home, pretending they were not married in Egypt, Lot and Abram splitting up because of all their stuff, the big war with a bunch of kings where some fell into tar pits, the rescue mission to get Lot back, the maid getting pregnant with Abrams kid, the deal with God called a covenant, and God really does not like being laughed at.  Would love to hear your thoughts on this story.  Hope you can come.

Oh yeah, we will also be introducing the board.

Sunday, April 3rd LifeBridge Gathering-Week 1-Easter Month-The Outlaw Jesus?

Time: Noon till One

Place: Ministry Center, 604 e 9th Street, Lockport Il.

April is Easter. This is where many Christians reflect on the Passion of the Christ. The arrest, trial, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
We are going to kick off our Easter series by talking about the “laws” he broke, why he broke them, why they wanted him dead, and what this death and resurrection means to us 2,000 years later.
Week 1 will be Pastor Pat talking about this.
Week 2 will be active worship about the Outlaw Jesus.
Week 3 will be a group discussion.
Week 4 will feature 2 pot lucks w/reflections. At 9:30, Easter Sunday there will be a breakfast buffet served by Istoria Church from Joliet at our facility and Pastor Steve Hinckle will give a brief reflection on Easter and Zombieland, after that the ministry center will be open for prayer and then at Noon we will have a Gyro based last supper and Pastor Pat will give a BRIEF Easter reflection.

Outlaws, Zombies, Food, and Jesus…not a bad month.
